Here is my letter:
Mr. Allen Simon,
I am in support of a boycott of your company until you recall the product pimple ball with bell (Item #20227-001, UPC Code 0 4566320227 9), as it is designed is such a way that irreparable damage can be caused by its use.
I will also boycott ALL your company's products until you reimburse the veterinary and rehabilitative expenses (past, present and foreseeable in the future) incurred by the owner of Chai, the dog who had to have his tongue his tongue removed due to the vacuum created by your ball. As well as any other dogs that have suffered the same abuse! It is absolutely appalling that you would dismiss your responsibility for this injury due to the low rate of incidents of such severity among users of this ball. Pet are not property, they are FAMILY, if one of your children were injured, God forbid, would you want them to be treated in such a callous manner? I think not. You would want someone to be held accountable for the defective product.
Referring the handling of this incident to the insurance department is not at all helpful. There is a beautiful baby name Chai, that is suffering in the mean time, while you're "sorting it out." I sincerely hope that people continue to e-mail you until you decide to do the "right" thing. The defective design of this ball in foreseeable usage of this ball is what caused the injury. It is only decent to accept responsibility and make this owner at least financially whole.
No amount of money could ever reimburse Chai's owner for the emotional distress she suffered in coping with the Chai's injury and the threat to his life -- and you could never reimburse Chai for the pain and suffering he has had to endure and will continue to endure now that he has such a catastrophic disability.
Why do corporations always have to reply with an across-the-board NO, even when your responsibility is obvious and undeniable? Just do the right thing: recall this product and make Chai's owner financially whole, before any more family member are injured or killed. (That's right, family members, not property, or things; shame on you!)
In case you have forgotten Chai's story it can be found at: http://thechaistory.blogspot.com/2008/08/chai-story.html
Sincerely,
Jennifer E. Walpole

She's wonderful!!! Check her out too!!
They have announced a recall, HOWEVER, the family hasn't been reimbursed for bills and they state that the recall is due to a manufactering defect! IT IS NOT!!! It is a design defect, there is only one hole in the toy creating a vacuum suction that could kill your pet! PLEASE HELP! REPOST!

The nicest day ever!
So today I begged and pleaded my way into getting to drive my grandpa's old Jeep. When he passed away he left it to my mom and I and it was sitting in her garage begging to be driven. It's an old 1979 CJ-7, maroon, with a bikini top and a V8 engine(and boy do those pipes rattle!). Needless to say, I'm in love! My mom, dad and I drove out to put a sign in the ground on one of the places they're selling and we drove around the lake coming back and it was awesome. It was just a really great, fun, simple day. One of those days where you just laugh and laugh. Great times!! Can't wait until the weather is more like this.

A couple of jokes for Friday :)
After the college boy delivered the pizza to Bud's trailer house, Bud asked, "What is the usual tip?"
"Well," replied the youth, "this is my first trip here, but the other guys say if I get a quarter out of you, I'll be doing great."
"Is that so?" snorted Bud. "Well, just to show them how wrong they are, here's five dollars."
"Thanks," replied the youth, "I'll put this in my school fund."
"What are you studying?" asked Bud.
The lad smiled and said, "Applied psychology."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Joey was taking Calculus at UCLA. He struggled with it, and worried about failing. Final exam time came, and he studied and studied, but, still he was not ready.
The Professor passed out the exams and told the class that they had only 30 minutes. Every five minutes, he reminded the class how much time was left. This only made Joey more and more nervous.
Finally, after 30 minutes, the Professor said, "Stop! The exam is over. Turn them in!"
One by one, the papers were handed in. But, Joey just kept working on that exam. The Professor decided to wait it out and see how long it would take him.
After another 20 minutes, Joey turned in his exam. The Professor asked him, "What are you doing?"
Joey answered, "Turning in my exam."
The professor then told Joey, "The exam was over 20 minutes ago. You have failed!"
Joey then looked the Professor in the eye, and asked, "Do you know who I am?"
The professor answered, "No."
Then Joey asked, "You really don't know who I am, do you?" as if he were a very important person.
The Professor again, said, "No, I don't know who you are and I don't care!"
Then Joey shoved his exam right in the middle of the other exams, that were on the Professor's desk, and said, "Good!"
You gotta love it :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Farscape Convention - Better kisser
It's that time of year again! Time for the FARSCAPE CONVENTION!!! Okay so the actual thing isn't until Novemember, but still it's exciting! The information about the convention is here, if anyone is interested. As I have been told before, I may be a little obsessed. But, I think everyone has something they are really into (reading, music, gardening) and I just happen to be really into sci-fi.

Friends
So does anyone have that one friend that no matter what you do, they don't listen to the advice they asked you for?? This annoys me sometimes. They ask for advice and then totally blow it off, it makes me wonder why they asked in the first place. I don't know. I think that sometimes they just want to hear someone agree with them. Usually when I ask for advice, I listen to the person because I trust them, otherwise I wouldn't be asking them in the first place. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm just tired, perhaps I am just tired of being asked the same question over and over. I think it's just been one of those weeks where if one more person asks me something I'm liable to scream. So here's to a better week. I hope everyone has a great week!!

Gratitude List, thanks Samie!
Samie posted a great message about a gratitude list, so I thought I would share my response here. A gratitude list! I love it! Check out Samie's blog and see if you can come up with your own list :)
Let's see, I'm thinking about this, I guess mine would go something like this,
1- The most wonderful parents in the world...even when they annoy me
2- An amazing 'adopted' little brother (he's acutally a really close friend we brought into the family)
3- An amazing best friend who's been there for me when anyone else would've rather drowned me than look at me ;)
4- The opportunity to get my Master's degree, thanks to my parents.
5- The creative ability to write, and write screenplays, inventing characters. I thank God for that often.
6- Music, I would be insane without a doubt by now without music.
7- Movies, I just don't think I could live without them either.
8- The ability to heal, physically and emotionally. I've been through some hard times recently and by the grace of God managed to survive.
9- clean breathable air, as you said, sometimes I wonder how the people in LA do it with all the smog.
10- everything else I've forgotten, but I'm sure I will add to later :)
Great question!!

An oldie but a goody!!
I was watching this old movie last night with my dad, Ben Hur. He absolutely loves it. I don't "love" it but I really like the chariot race, I could watch that over and over. It was a really advanced/expensive film for its time, I guess that's really why people are fascinated by it. I'm just not into the whole Roman thing as much as he is. I don't know I really get emotional watching it. There are certain instances with Judah that make you cry...maybe it's a girl thing. I like the time period, but I that movie is just tooooo long :) He likes Spartacus as well, but that one I can actually sit through. It has a more interesting story, I guess. Well maybe interesting is the wrong word, succinct?? It's easier to watch, for me. I feel so bad for Spartacus, what a life, hunh? I hadn't seen either one of them in so long, I was wondering if anyone else has seen them or likes them??

Thinking, thinking, thinking...
I am having one of those days where you have everything due at once! It's like the deadlines just crept up on me. I have three things due for my free lance writing job, and two papers due. SIGH!!! I knew the papers were due, but I was putting them off until we got a little more direction on where to go with it, because it's a theory paper. I have no problem doing that assignment, but it's all this other stuff. It's like I just can't get caught up...argh. On top of that, I still haven't finished paying off my tuition like I had planned because I had some other expenses come up. What a week; and it's only Wednesday. I'm sure it will all get better though because I have made the all-important "to=do" list and will start crossing things off soon. I have this picture right next to my desk:
And somedays....it's the only thing that gets me through!!! :-D

Farscape Introduction
You gotta love Crichton :)
So, I'm sitting here thinking 'I wonder how many people have never even seen this show.' I love it, it is one of my all time favorites. Perhaps it is because it has a great story line, perhaps because Ben Browder's not bad to look at...lol. At any rate, it really is a great show, there's a small YouTube clip, actually there's a bunch of them...this is the intro :)

Another joke...we could use one right?
Graduate School Barbie comes in two styles!Delusional Master's Barbie (tm) and Ph.D. Masochist Barbie (tm). Every Graduate School Barbie comes with these fun-filled features guaranteed to delight and entertain for hours:
Grad School Barbie comes out of the box with a big grin on her face that turns into a frown after 2 weeks or her first advisor meeting (whichever comes first). Adorable black circles under her delightfully bloodshot eyes! Two outfits: a grubby pair of blue jeans with 5-year-old gap T-shirt, and a floppy pair of gray sweatpants with a matching "Go Screw Yourself" T-shirt! Grad School Barbie talks! Just press the button on her left hand and hear her say such upbeat grad school phrases as, "Yes, Professor, It'll be done by tomorrow" "I'd love to write it all over again" "Why didn't I just get a job, I could have been making $40,000 a year by now if I had just started working with a Bachelor's degree. But noooooo, Mom and Dad wanted a masters degree" and "I wish somebody would drop a bomb on the school so that I'd have an excuse to stop working on this degree that's sucking every last drop of life force out of my withered and degraded excuse for a soul..." (9 V lithium batteries sold separately) Grad School Barbie is anatomically correct! Experience the exciting changes that come with pursuing a higher education! Removable panels on Barbie's head and torso allow you to watch as her cerebellum fries to a crispy brown, her heart race at 150 beats per minute, and her stomach lining gradually dissolve into nothing!

Tired...
Like most college students, today I am extremely tired. I find it hard to force myself to even post on here...which I normally ENJOY! Yesterday I went over to my mom and dad's house and my mom had a cold, and I'm starting to think that maybe she shared some of her wonderful germs with me...lol. That's alright though, I'm sure it's nothing I can't deal with, possibly it's just an excuse not to do my homework...right? Probably. Anyway, I think I will finish my paper for my 18th century class and have a nap. I know, I know it's sooooo exciting to be 25 and need a nap...lol. Post a longer one later :)

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee
When things in your lives seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls... He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full The students responded with an unanimous "yes."The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed."Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions--and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.The sand is everything else--the small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend al l your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you."Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first--the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.."One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.." Please share this with someone you care about. I JUST DID. I love this! My best friend Shannon sent it to me and I thought I'd share with my fellow extremely stressed and busy college students! :)

Okay I'm having a day from....well you know
Okay, so I get up this morning and my laptop won't boot up. No Vista, no log-on screen nothing! I just bought it in July, so I call Circuit City and tell them it is sick...lol. They say bring it in and they'll have their tech see what they can do. This immediately worries me, just what I need is some high school flunkie looking at my $800 machine. I tell him that the hard drive is corrupt and he tells ME that there is no way to tell. I try to be nice and tell him that I ran the BIOS diagnostic test and it failed, meaning something killed my hard drive. He said, oh okay. He said well that's a HP issue so you'll have to contact them!! I'm like what?!?! I just drove all the way over here for nothing!! You've gotta be kidding me! Anyway, so now I'm waiting on a part from HP, which I almost killed them over because they said they wouldn't send me the part without a credit card number. I'm thinking it's under warranty you deal with it if it gets lost in the mail. So, apparently that will fix the problem, but we shall see.
Also, this week my cell phone was stolen. So I am having complete technological melt down and I do NOT like it! I had a fight with AT&T about getting a replacement too, because apparently when they took over Cingular my loss protection was dropped. SIGH! Anyway, long story short, I am now severely technologically debilitated...lol.

I guess I'm a little picky!
I have spent the last hour tweaking my blog, trying to get it exactly the way that I want it and I must say it's finally there. I have a few little elements that I would like to add but I am so tired I think I will do the rest tomorrow! I love the Vin Diesel picture, but that's just me :-D if anyone has problems reading the type through the picture just let me know and I will set the opacity different so that there is a background instead of it just being transparent.
Enough about that though, I am taking another online course and let me tell you it is going to be a killer. I realize I am in graduate school and a lot more is expected of us, but wow! This syllabus would shock you ;) Well I guess in a way that's a good thing, at least I won't be able to say that I'm bored...lol (as if any graduate student ever gets to say that!)
